Brännland Iscider invests in the production and development of Swedish ice cider with support from the European Union Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the European Union Fund for Innovation and Productivity in Agriculture.
Together with Interreg Aurora Brännland Iscider, Liselunds Cider and Bute Cider, three ice cider producers in Finland and Sweden finalized an application for protected status for ice cider from the Botnia region. The support from Interreg Aurora has been used to produce crucial components in an application such as an independent sensory evaluation of the products that fall under protected status, graphics for labelling, a website with information on the proposed status and finalization and vetting of the application text prior to submission. The project was executed in a much shorter timeframe than expected and the application for protected status for Botnia ice cider is expected to be submitted on both countries at the beginning of 2026.
